چکیده

Background: Fungal keratitis is often difficult to eradicate and requires long treatment. Antifungal agents have lower efficacy because of low tissue penetration the indolent nature infection. Fluconazole has effective ocular ability, reaching aqueous concentration as same plasm concentration. Multilayer amniotic membrane transplantation (MLAMT) been shown be a promising surgical procedure reconstruct surface by supporting epithelialization cornea having protective antimicrobial properties. This study aims report outcome concurrent intracameral fluconazole injection with for fungal in Dr. M. Djamil General Hospital.
Case presentation: Four inpatients ophthalmology ward Hospital moderate severe keratitis. All patients were first treated medications. Because did not show clinical improvement after getting maximum therapy, they underwent MLAMT. MLAMT was performed multilayered membranes fill cover defect. The bandage contact lens placed protect keep place patients’ comfort. Patients then observed signs inflammatory reaction epithelialization. showed reduced inflammation improved epithelization surgery.
Conclusion: Concurrent can considered an alternative treatment refractory it decreases rate improves epithelization.

Improvement of HSV-1 necrotizing keratitis with amniotic membrane transplantation.

PURPOSE Stromal herpes simplex virus keratitis (HSK) is an immune-mediated disease. Previous studies have indicated that T cells, neutrophils, and macrophages contribute to the tissue damage in HSK. It has been shown that human amniotic membrane promotes epithelial wound healing and has diverse anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, the effect of amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) on co...

A case of amniotic membrane transplantation in non-healing Nocardia asteroides keratitis

A patient with severe non-healing microscopically proven Nocardia keratitis was treated with maximal topical amikacin followed by amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) 2 months later (single-layer epithelial side-down). Epithelial healing was achieved, but neovascularization continued. This case report indicates that AMT combined with topical antibiotic provides pain relief and allows epithel...
